All families with students attending Kelly or Teachers' Memorial Middle School next school year with an interest in music are encouraged to attend an Open House and Concert on Wednesday June 6 at 7pm at Kelly MS where they can find out more about registering for music lessons.

Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation is pleased to announce it will award three $500 Grants intended to assist NPS teachers in improving student achievement. All NPS teachers are encouraged to apply.
Simply provide your responses to the following items in the body of an email:
Provide a detailed description of your proposal.
How will the grant improve and impact student achievement?
How will you measure the success of the grant?
Successful responses will clearly articulate all three items above.
Jacqueline Owens, president of the Norwich NAACP and "champion for all people (especially children) regardless of race or religion" received the CT Council for Philanthropy's Willard M. McRae Community Diversity Award this week, sponsored by the Liberty Bank Foundation. Ms. Owens has graciously donated her monetary award to 4 local nonprofits, including the NPS Education Foundation. We are honored by Ms. Owen's generosity and pledge to follow her lead in service to the youth of Norwich.
Save the date for the 1st annual 'Norwich Community Concert' on Friday, Dec. 2 at the beautiful new Jacqueline Owens Auditorium at Kelly MS 6:30pm. Featured groups: Norwich Arts Council band; NFA concert band; Kelly & Teachers' Memorial MS students; and a UConn brass ensemble. You are invited to the 'First Annual Steak Night for Charity" taking place at Aces Sports Bar at the Comfort Suites, 275 Otrobando Ave., Norwich on Saturday Nov. 12, 2011 from 5pm-7pm. The goal is to raise $5,000 for the Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation. Come share a delicious steak dinner among friends and help the Foundation at the same time.
